Follow
Let your partner lead the moves.

Frame
Work on a nice solid and flexible frame so that you react quickly to your partners lead. Keep your abdominals tight, and don't slouch.

Look at your partner
When you look at the person you are dancing with, it makes them feel good, and it is much easier to follow their lead.

Smile
If you smile, your partner can see that you are enjoying the dance and you both feel good.

Encourage and Praise
Reinforce good behaviour - tell your partner what they are doing well.

Dance in the moment
Don't get side tracked by who you're going to dance with next, it's awesome to dance with someone who has their full attention on you.

Work on your dancing
It doesn't matter who you're dancing with - beginner or advanced - there is always some aspect you can improve. An advanced dancer dancing with a beginner should still look like an advanced dancer.

Listen to the music
How does it make you feel? Fun? Sexy? Dramatic? Shy? Play up the personality of the song with your face and your body movements.

Ask for feedback
If you want to improve your dancing - ask for feedback from people you dance with. Give your partner some limitations ie "I'm working on my posture, so while we are dancing can you let me know when I drop my shoulders?" or, "I'm really trying to improve my dancing, after this song can you please give me one thing I can work on to get better?"

Dance with lots of different people
If you dance with lots of people, your dancing will improve, and you will learn a greater variety of moves.
